Fruit or Veggie?

Well who the hell decides if its a fruit or veggie? I had someone ask me whats the difference. As far as I know Fruit has the seed, Veggie IS the seed. So lets say hmmm a PEACH well poof it has a seed - fruit. And how about corn well it IS the seed -veggie. Anyway the conversation started because its harvest time baby. Tomatoes are full in the garden and Im gobbin them up. The cucumbers are in a slow blight. I suppose the lack of bees is hard for them. Pollinators are a problem across the country, many loosing whole crops not to mention the hives of bees that they ship in for pollination are dispersing for some reason or another. Some people have guessed that it may be due to the increasing number of cell towers across the country. Maybe the signals are crossing with the natural biology of the bee and distressing their navigation back to the hive, but whole hives are being lost in fields and not returning. Whatever the reason I'm out there with a cue tip sexing up them buggers trying to get cucumbers for a batch or two of pickles. I have a 200 year old recipe that I really want to give a go.

I got some fresh film and fixin to head up to the lake, maybe tomorrow morning early and make a day of it. The humidity seems to be on the decline, and next week looks even hotter so i better get. I hear they have been doing some work on the west shore preserve and its a nice ride up there so ... Sunday will be meant for touring north for a swim. I hear reports that the water is very low, full sand bars very far out. You know that's just how the lake was be for deepening of the northern route in Detroit. You could drive out on roads to sand bar parks in Port Clinton and have lunch. Cabins and all were flooded away when the rivers were deepened and the Falls were stopped up. Lake Erie is now low again, well I'll get some photos and well see.

For today well Ive got other veggies to fry. Nice summer squash, zucchinis, and banana peppers in a bit of oil, maybe a few ears of corn on the side, yuHm! Hey did you know you can MICROWAVE corn on the cobb, yuH! hear from a friend, tried it, and poof its perfect. Put your corn in the micro (one ear is all i tried at a time), leave it husk and all - no presoaking needed, and nuke it for 1-2 min each side. Tasty, and NO boiling hot water in your cool kitchen!!! I love it, thanks for the tip John! Well that's it for today, things to see and people to do.

Peace
rick
