Recently liberal organizations have placed full page ads mocking that General Petraeus was cooking the books with regard to his report of progress in Iraq. As it turns out he DID just that!
He is using "fuzzy math" to cherry pick numbers for this report to congress. Car bombs were not used in the tally of violence according to a September 7 New York Times article. Also a September 6 Washington Post article said that assasinations were only counted if the victim was shot in the "back" of the head.
Petraeus, along with the White House did in fact cook the books to show progress in Iraq. According to the September 9 Washington Post he has coordinated with the White House daily about the "message strategy." The list goes on and on including several indepentent assessments showing that things in Iraq have gone from bad to worse. General Petraeus DID betray us; with cherry-picked intelligence and misleading statistics.
